About Recycled Tyke

Recycled Tyke is a free listing service that connects buyers and sellers of everything for babies and kids. We also publish the RT blog, an informal place to discuss parenting, green living, cool new products, and much more.

Our simple, easy-to-use platform puts buying and selling in your hands. Here's how it works:

• A Seller posts a listing for the item they want to sell.
• Interested Buyers e-mail the seller through our secure system. The Seller's e-mail address is anonymous
• Seller can choose to respond to Buyer's e-mail to negotiate the transaction. At this point, Recycled Tyke is no longer involved in the transaction (Though we do proved guidelines for members about how to buy and sell safely).

Think of us as a great friend who can introduce you to thousands of like-minded moms. The rest is up to you!

That's up to you as well. Our easy location tools let you sort listings by Zip code. If you want to see items worldwide, choose to "See All". If you're only interested in buying items locally, enter your Zip code and shop only items in your area. Items like cribs and strollers are expensive to ship and therefore best purchased locally. Clothes, books, and toys are often shipped from other locations.

Smart, budget savvy, eco-conscious moms -- and some dads too! Recycled Tyke also allows some selected Approved Vendors to use the site to sell products we like.

Yes! Sign up for the Recycled Tyke e-newsletter in your Account. You can also sign up to receive e-mail alerts whenever items that you’re interested in are listed. Just set your alerts preferences in your Account, and we’ll send alerts right to your inbox. You’ll be the first to know when the items you want are listed.

Yes, but free ads are for individual sellers only. Vendors pay a fee and must be approved by us to sell on Recycled Tyke. Contact us to create a vendor account.

Ebay charges listing fees and has a complicated auction system in place for buying and selling. Recycled Tyke is completely free to use and employs a simple, intuitive transaction process that's based on buyer-seller communication. On Craigslist, your ads only reach a local audience, and they expire after seven days. Recycled Tyke has users all over the world, and your ads remain active for at least six months (or until your item sells).

But the main advantage of selling on Recycled Tyke is that your ads will be seen by tons of buyers who are specifically interested in shopping for kids of all ages. We advertise to and create content for moms and moms-to-be, so that they'll come here first when they're looking for preowned baby and kids items.

We reduce the demand for new items, saving the resources and energy it takes to manufacture them. In addition to providing a space for consumer product recycling, Recycled Tyke donates a portion of our proceeds from ad sales to Global Green USA.

Signing Up & Signing In

Yes. You can buy or sell on Recycled Tyke, and we never charge you a penny.

Create a free account and sign in instantly. Our sign-up form is quick and easy. Once you have an account, you can sign in buy and sell items, store your Favorites, and set up new item e-mail alerts.

Your username is the e-mail address you used when you created your account.

In order to create an account, you must tell us your first and last name, your e-mail address, and details about your location. Everything else is optional. When you answer the optional questions, you help us get to know you better. We use your answers to improve Recycled Tyke to better serve you. Read our Privacy Policy to learn more about how we keep your data safe.

Recycled Tyke asks for your location so that we can customize the site search to benefit you. If you’re a buyer, your location information helps us find items near you. If you’re a seller, your location information will help buyers find you.

Account Info

Just go to your Account and click on Password. You’ll have to enter your old password in order to create a new one. If you don’t remember your old password, you can recover it.

Yes. Go to Your Account and click on Personal Information. From there you can change your e-mail address, your location, and any other personal information that you wish to update.

You can remove your e-mail address from the mailing list, or change or stop your alerts, from within your Account.

You can delete your account by signing in and navigating to the Account section. In the Personal Information section, at the bottom of the page, click the Delete Account button. Once you delete your account, all of your settings, e-mail alerts, and favorites will be removed from our system.

Site Features

There are several ways to search for items on Recycled Tyke.

• From any page on the site, you can enter a keyword into the Search field in the upper right-hand side.
• Choose any of the item categories listed on the left-hand side of the homepage, like Wedding Dresses or Shoes. Use the drop-down menus at the top of the listings pages to refine the category listings.
• Use our Advanced Search tool to search for items by keyword, color, style, price range, designer and location.

E-mail alerts notify you whenever a new item that you’re looking for has been posted on Recycled Tyke. You can set e-mail alert preferences from your account. Go to E-mail Alerts, and choose the designers and colors that you want to be notified about. We’ll send an e-mail directly to your inbox, so you’ll be the first to know whenever these items are listed.

Favorites are a selection of your favorite Recycled Tyke items, which you choose and store in your account. Your favorites are like your own personal closet for the Recycled Tyke listings that you want to share with friends or come back to later.

To add an item to your favorites, navigate to the Tools on the right-hand side of your chosen item’s detail page, and click the heart icon that says “Add to Favorites”.

Report Abuse

Read Recycled Tyke’s Terms of Service for rules about buying, selling and general user conduct.

If you spot any activity on Recycled Tyke that violates our Terms of Service, please let us know.

Members can use Recycled Tyke to sell anything baby and kid-related, including gift items. If you see a listing for something that looks inappopriate for the site, find the link on the right-hand side of the item page that says Report this Listing. Our staff will review the ad to determine whether it should be removed.

Recycled Tyke assumes no liability for scams or fraud associated with our site. Though scams and fraud are very rare, we do actively police our site for suspicous activity, and our engaged community of buyers and sellers keeps us informed so that we can continue to block suspicious users. Please help us to maintain a safe environment by Reporting Abuse.

We investigate all reports of fraud and rule-breaking, and take site abuse seriously. Members who violate our Terms of Service are banned from Recycled Tyke, and their accounts and ads are permanently deleted.
